OSATECH appoints Dr.  Okunlola as new deputy provost of the college.

Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, (OSCATECH) Igboora has appointed Dr. Ariyo Olusanjo Okunlola of Forestry Department, Faculty of Plant and Environmental Sciences as a new Deputy Provost for the College.

This was contained in a release signed by the Head, Public & Alumni Relations Unit, Olawore H. Opeyemi and made available to journalists in Ibadan.

The release explained that Dr. Okunlola who was the only candidate for the post was returned as elected after the total number of votes casts in his support was announced by the Academic Affairs Officer, Mr. Amao Kayode.

In his acceptance speech, the new Deputy Provost thanked the Almighty God for counting him worthy for the office with a promise to work hand in hand with his boss for the attainment of his developmental goal for the College and not to let the people down having reposed confidence in him.

Before his new appointment, Dr. Okunlola has taught so many courses and had served in various capacities, some of which include, Head, Agricultural Technology Department, Head, Forestry Technology Department, Sub-dean, School of Plant Science and Director, Academic Planning.

Others include, Chairman, Committee on Land Matters, OYSCAI Ventures, Students’ Disciplinary Committee and Inter-Religious Committee.

Born on 5th October, 1955, he had his WASC O’Level in 1976 and G.C.E. A/L at the Polytechnic, Ibadan with which he proceeded to the University of Ibadan for his Bachelor of Science (BSc.(Hons.) in Forestry Resources Management in 1979 and graduated in 1983.

In 1987, Ariyo Okunlola returned to the University of Ibadan for his Master’s programme and he was awarded, Master of Science in Forestry Resources Management and in 2017, he bagged his PhD in Forestry Resources Management, also at the University of Ibadan.

Meanwhile, the College, through its Registrar, Mr. Niyi Fehintola has disclosed that admission into National Diploma, Higher National Diploma and Day Part-Time programmes of the College is still in progress stating that applicants for National Diploma programmes who did not choose the College but scored 120 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can be admitted.

He advised such candidates to log on to the JAMB website in order to do change of course and institution into the College, logging on to its portal for post UTME screening registration and uploading of SSCE result on College website and JAMB website.
