Prominent Community leader in Ilorin Emirate and Seasoned businessman and notable politician, Alh. Yakubu Gobir, has been installed the Wazirin Hausa of Daura Emirate, Katsina State.
The installation, performed by the Emir of Daura, Alh. Umar Farouk Umar, CON, took place at the Emir’s palace amidst pomp and pageantry. The memorable event was witnessed by national figures and a strong contingent from Kwara.
The Kwara Delegation included the Baba Isale of Ilorin, Alh. Sadiq Abdullahi, the Mogaji Ngeri of Ilorin, Alh. Mohammed Adebayo , Imam Gambari, Sheikh Sulaiman Abdulazeez, Zarna of Ilorin, Alh.. Sagaya, Tafida of Ilorin, Dr. Amuda Aluko, Jarman of Ilorin, Alh.. Kola Belgore, Seriki Gambari, Alh. Ahmed Gambari, Seriki Gobir, Alh. Ahmed Yusuf Gobir, and other Mogajis and Alanguas.
Dignitaries at the event also included the Director General if Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mallam Yakubu Mohammed (who was represented by the General Manager, NTA, katrina, Alh.. Tunde Soaga, a former Commissioner in Kwara State and Oloriewe of Iron Kingdom, Oloriewe Raheem Adedoyin, the Makama of Lafiagi, Alh.. Tajudeen Audu, the Director General, Kwara State Bureau of Land, Mallam Ibrahim Salman, and Community Leaders Mr. Funsho Alabi and Mallam Ahmed Yusuf.
In his speech, the Emir said Gobir has a culturally rich family history in Daura Emirate adding the Yakubu Gobir was eminently qualified for the title. He praised the new Waziri for his record of philanthropy and community service, urging him to use his new position to promote the values and development of the Daura emirate.
Makama Audu, a political associate of Gobir, eulogised the communal spirit of the Waziri, stressing that their mutual love transcends politics. Oloriewe Adedoyin expressed joy that he was a witness to the historic event.
“I knew the man to be generous and humble. I have known additionally now that he is respected traditional title holder. The outpouring of love and affection by the people of Daura emirate for Waziri Gobir is astounding. Kwarans are very proud of him”. He said.
