No fewer than seven polling units in the eastern senatorial district were so far cancelled by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Two polling units were cancelled at voting process in Anyigba in Dekina local government while the other five were in the Omala community of the state.

The cancellation according to sources closed to INEC followed an attack by thugs who shot into the air and disrupted the voting process and destroyed polling units.

The attack led to the sudden end of the voting in these areas.

One of the polling units cancelled was Unit 01, Abejukolo ward in Omala Local Government Area respectively.
