  • 9 Signs you have a toxic boyfriend

9 Signs you have a toxic boyfriend

Relationship is suppose to be a thing of mutual benefit in respect to love, respect, compassion etc. A relationship lacking in these, becomes a source of despair. Therefore, it is very important you enter into a relationship with the right person.

Here are signs that indicate your boyfriend is a toxic partner:

    1. He seems hostile — a lot

Is he/she angry a lot of the time? If you feel you are living with a lot of tension, feeling stressed and not able to express yourself the way you want, your relationship is not healthy for you. You want to feel the safety and security to express your authentic self. —Dr. Marian Stansbury

    2. He puts me down

Does your significant other criticize or demean you? Are you on edge much of the time because you feel that you can’t please your partner or do anything right? Does he/she make fun of you or criticize you in public, in front of friends or family? Does he/she act superior towards you or mock you? These are all warning signs of an unhappy, dysfunctional relationship. —Dr. Marian Stansbury

    3. Is he avoiding me?

Does it seem he doesn’t want to be around you? Maybe he/she gives double messages that make you feel confused (e.g. saying “Of course I love you” while not behaving in a loving manner). When he doesn’t want to be physically affectionate, you end up feeling rejected. Meanwhile, he complains that you are too needy. —Dr. Marian Stansbury

    4. He refuses to change or talk about problems

Is your partner open to being influenced by you? Is he/she self-reflective? When you express how you feel and ask for what you want, does he/she listen and make an effort to meet your needs? If he/she refuses to acknowledge that your feelings and needs are important, and refuses to go to counseling, you may be stuck in a toxic relationship. Then you need to ask yourself, “What do I need to do for myself to be happy and satisfied with my life?” —Dr. Marian Stansbury

    5. He fights dirty

Name calling is a definite sign of toxicity in a relationship. Attempting to hurt someone with words is not the way to resolve conflict or communicate hurt feelings. Problems usually escalate quickly when name-calling is present and it makes it especially difficult to create intimacy and connection in the relationship. —Keri Nola

    6. You aren’t yourself

Do you change your likes, dislikes or opinions when you’re with your partner? Feeling like you can’t be yourself and adjusting to please for fear of retaliation can be a sign of a toxic relationship. It’s important to be able to express yourself honestly in your relationship for authentic love to grow. —Keri Nola

    7. He’s more like an over-involved parent

I’m not talking about the kind who drives you to your violin recital. I’m talking about the kind who decides your career, what school you go to and who you hang out with. When your guy acts like an over-involved parent, he chooses which friends stay, which ones go and what kind of clothes you should wear. You’ve learned from past experiences that your thoughts and opinions do not matter to him and if you express them, you will regret it later on. —Mika Maddela

    8. He’s the king of guilt trips

He has a certain knack for making you feel guilty and indebted to him. You feel obligated to give in to whatever he wants, especially when he reminds you of that thoughtful gesture he’s done for you lately. When every gesture comes with strings attached, it might be time to cut the cord. —Mika Maddela

    9. He’s your secret lover … but not in a good way

Your family and friends don’t like the way he treats you. Since they are more likely to give unsolicited relationship advice, you’re afraid that what they have to say may be the truth. So, you tend to avoid talking about him, bringing him around, or involving him in any way with your friends and family. —Mika Maddel

  • 10 Steps to giving her a mind blowing kiss

10 Steps to giving her a mind blowing kiss

Afraid you may ruin things with an awkward kiss? Well, here are steps on how to give her a terrific kiss that will get her wanting more.

    1. Alone time

The most important thing you need to ensure is privacy. Kissing a girl for the first time is awkward for the first few seconds, until it starts to get perfect. But for that transition to be smooth, you need to avoid any kind of distractions.

Try to get some alone time with the girl, be it in your room, in your car after the date, or in a quiet corner as you walk her home. It’s very important that you find the right place with a lot of privacy, or you may end up ruining all chances of kissing her.

    2. Don’t talk about the kiss

If you know the girl already, chances are, you’ve spoken with her about the first kiss at some point of time, either while text flirting with her or over the phone.

But when you’re in the moment, in a quiet place where there’s no one else but the two of you, don’t talk about it. Don’t mention anything about wanting to kiss her or about wanting to make out with her. She knows both of you have discussed it and so do you. Don’t make the situation awkward by arm twisting her into a kiss because both of you have talked about it!

    3. Take your time

There’s nothing like the perfect time to kiss a girl, especially when you’re the one who’s in control of the situation. Relax, sit down with her and just talk about something. Help her feel at ease, because the more comfortable she is, the more the chances of her enjoying that first kiss with you. Just flirt with her, and talk about something both of you did that day.

    4. Don’t ask her if you can kiss her

It’s true, girls love a knight in shining armor and she’ll love a guy who’s chivalrous. But asking her if it’s okay to kiss her isn’t a sign of chivalry, it’s a sign of awkwardness.

Don’t ask a girl if you can kiss her because her answer will almost never be in your favor. If she’s really into you, she may accept to kiss you, even if she feels surprised by your *bold question*. But in any other case, you’re setting yourself for a fall.

    5. Get closer

The best way to warm her up for the first kiss is by cozying up with her. If you’re sitting down, seat your butt closer to her so your arm can easily graze against hers. And if you’re standing, move into her personal space and just stand a few inches away from her body.

The second you get into a girl’s personal space, it’ll make her feel awkward. But don’t let her awkwardness scare you away. Talk to her and flirt with her, and don’t make it obvious that you’re coming closer to her. Instead, just pretend like you came in closer involuntarily, and didn’t even realize it.

    6. Warm up the sexual tension

Touch her often. Use your finger and run it through her hair or along her arm. Compliment her as you touch her, be it about her hair, her fragrance or her soft skin.

If she smiles or blushes when you touch her, it’s a sign she likes what you’re doing. Speak softly in a low tone and avoid any sudden movements. Whisper in her ears, and run your fingers against hers playfully.

    7. Make your intentions clear

Move in close until your face is just inches away from her face. You don’t need to stop talking though, just say something, but as you say it, look at her lips, and then back again at her eyes. She’ll know exactly what you’re looking at, and her mind would be racing just as fast as yours is!

Wet your own lips discreetly as you stare at her *not in a murderous maniac kind of way*. Licking your lips subconsciously sends the message across to the girl that you intend to come in for a kiss very soon, and moist lips are so much better to kiss.

    8. The perfect time to kiss

If you use these steps on how to kiss a girl for the first time, you don’t really need to worry about the perfect time to kiss her because you’re the one in complete control of things.

But just to create the right cue, move in closer for the kiss when there’s been a bit of silence for a few seconds. Stop talking and don’t say anything. Just look into her eyes, and run your fingers through her hair. If she just looks back at you without saying anything, that’s the perfect moment you’ve been waiting for!

    9. Take it easy

So yeah, you’ve just kissed the girl. But don’t get carried away and ruin the moment. When you kiss a girl for the first time, you need to be very gentle and delicate. Place your lips on hers and kiss her lips softly.

Don’t try to use your tongue too early into the kiss. Instead, just relax, and try to enjoy the way her lips feel against yours. You have all the time to try new things later. But for now, just focus on kissing her gently, and don’t get pushy. [Read:

    10. Don’t be overenthusiastic

When you kiss the girl for the first time, don’t let your hands wander too soon into the kiss, or she’s just stiffen up or push your hands away *and that’s a terrible mood kill!*

As you kiss her, place your hands on her shoulders or along the sides of her arms, and just move it gently along the sides of her body. Don’t try to move your hands over her breasts or her stomach unless both of you have been kissing for a while.

  • BOSG SET TO SCALE UP NSHIP IN IDPs CAMP CLINICS

BOSG SET TO SCALE UP NSHIP IN IDPs CAMP CLINICS

    Dauda R Pam MAIDUGURI

Dr. Sule Meleh, the executive director, BORNO state Health Care Development Agency,BOSPHDA,has reaffirmed that the proposed ‘pull down and down sizing of human resources’ (Adhoc staff) from clinics in most of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps by major partners like the UNICEF, would not be a set back, as the Nigeria State Health Investment Project- Additional Financing (NSHIP- AF) is working assiduously to contract these facilities and strengthen its health system.

The executive director, disclosed this on Tuesday in a meeting with members of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU), UNICEF Representative, Mr. Jimoh Mohammed, Directors and Deputy Directors of Primary Health Care (PHC) Departments in Local Government Areas of Borno Central and Northern Senatorial Districts.

He said, the meeting was aimed at fraternizing with the stakeholders on how best NSHIP, which is strictly on Performance Based Financing (PBF) approach will key-in to ensure availability and affordability of quality healthcare services, reduce child mortality, improve maternal health and combatting HIV/AIDs, Malaria and other diseases amongst IDPs living in resettlement camps, as approved by the World Bank and Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum who have passion for the health sector.

Dr Sule Meleh, used the occasion to commend the unflinching support by development partners, particularly UNICEF which has taken the lead in providing health needs of IDPs in camps across the state, Dr. Meleh stressed that, with coming of NSHIP/PBF in designated clinics of the identified camps, the PIU team and the Directors of PHC department and other staff have to redouble their efforts to ensure 24hr health services for IDPs.

It could be recalled that already, PIU Team have visited 16 IDP camps in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council and Jere, where it carried out a Rapid Assessment (RA) of the clinics in Bakassi, Dalori I & II, Stadium, Muna, Farm Centre, Gubio, Madinatu, Customs House among other IDP camps, adding that based on the Data obtained about the situation of these clinics, there is the urgent need for NSHIP intervention.

Hear him, “We summoned you to this very important meeting because, in the next 10 days, UNICEF which is the major partner with our health facilities in IDP camps are rounding up with their interventions, which means, all existing adhoc staff, from the Health Facility Managers down to a cleaner would have their appointment terminated.

“In this case, there is going to be a huge human resources gap in our Clinics in the camps, and that is why our concerned Governor had to seek support from the World Bank to extend NSHIP intervention into the IDP camp clinics”

“As it is, before this new initiatives, NSHIP have so far contracted over 100 private and public Clinics and General Hospital in Borno Central, North and Southern Senatorial Districts which are presently benefitting from the project, and even if UNICEF downsizes its adhoc staff, and continue providing drugs or commodities to these clinics in camps, NSHIP is coming at a better time than now to restore hope to our IDPs” Dr. Meleh stated.

  • 5 Signs that indicate you should ask him out

5 Signs that indicate you should ask him out

He seems really into you, always chatting with you and even flirting with you. In fact, People have even begun to call you guys a couple. Actually every sign indicates that he likes you a lot.

You, of course, are into him but being the woman you don’t want to be the one calling for a relationship but you are desperately waiting for his proposal. However, for some reasons, he isn’t making any move and it is making you go gaga.

Well, some guys are just very shy and may never make a move, but hey what is wrong with going for what we want. By the way the heart wants what it wants right?

However, here are indications that he likes you and that it is time you threw caution to the wind and ask the shy dude out:

    1. He’s vague with plans

When you’re trying to make plans with a guy, there’s nothing more frustrating than the word “sometime.”

“My first two years of school, I knew this guy named Dillon. We were always together, we texted and talked on the phone almost every day and his friends had told me he liked me,” says Hannah, a senior at the University of Colorado. “I used to get so frustrated though, because, despite all of that, he never actually asked me out.”

According to Carole Lieberman, a psychiatrist and relationship expert, vague suggestions about going out “sometime,” “next time” or “soon” show that he’s definitely interested in hanging out, but for some reason isn’t prepared to nail down a date and time.

    2. He texts, but never calls

You’ve been texting this guy nonstop and your conversations are great. His jokes are perfect and his emojis are on point, but he just won’t pick up the phone and call.

Lieberman says this shows that he enjoys talking to you, but he’s just uncertain of how to take your communication – and your relationship – to the next level.

    3. He has good body language

For some guys, actions really do speak louder than words. While you may be frustrated with his lack of verbal commitment, don’t forget to pay attention to his body language. If he makes a lot of eye contact with you or chooses to stand or sit close to you, then you can be sure he’s interested.

The most important piece of body language, according to Lieberman, is lots of smiling. She says a guy who flirts with you without making any sexual advances may actually be very interested. This means that you’re more than just a possible one-night stand to him – you’re girlfriend material.

    4. You’re stuck as his plus-one

Weekends in college are filled with parties, casual hangouts and large group events. A sure sign that a guy is interested in you is if he’s constantly inviting you to these as his plus-one. Being his date shows that you’re on his mind and that he’s comfortable spending time with you.

“I was really into this girl during my sophomore year, but for a really long time I wasn’t sure she liked me,” says Matt, a junior at Boston University. “Instead of just going for it and asking her out, I usually just defaulted to taking her with me to friends’ parties and casual hangouts.”

    5. He talks about you

Sometimes when a guy knows he likes you, he finds it easier to talk to anyone but you about it. If he won’t stop talking about you to his guy friends and won’t stop asking your girl friends about you, then chances are he’s head over heels.

“My first semester, I had class with a really great girl. We had talked a few times and I knew I liked her, but I didn’t know how to get to know her more,” says Griffin, a sophomore at Belmont University. “We had a mutual friend, so I spent a lot of time asking her for tips about this girl’s hobbies or interests. I figured it would be a better way to start up conversation.”

Do any of these signs sound like your guy? It might just be time to make your move!
