***The previous governor, while giving subtleties, sends Sallah greetings to President Muhammadu Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, pioneer of the All Progressives Congress (APC)

    By Jennifer Y Omiloli

Akinwunmi Ambode, recent past governor of Lagos, has dispelled any confusion air over an announcement ascribed to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charging that it had frozen certain accounts connected to him.

As indicated by Ambode, no record of his account contains N9.9 billion not to mention being solidified by the EFCC.

He, in any case, included that in the soul of Sallah and having been governor in the state with most extreme devotion and honesty, his record is exceptionally clear and his mind blissful for the chance to have served the state determinedly.

Talking through Habib Aruna, his media adviser, Ambode said while he didn’t mean to unite issues with the counter debasement organization right now, particularly as there has been no correspondence among him and the commission on this issue, it is appropriate to explain what he accepted was a deceptive import of the press proclamation on Tuesday, August 6.

Ambode clarified that the accounts being referred to that was frozen by the Federal High Court is that of the Lagos state government and not him or any person.

“Those accounts were opened in the course of normal operations by the Lagos state government for its administrative purposes and not for the former governor’s personal transactions as was being wrongly insinuated and have been operated to ensure smooth operations of government activities by previous and present administrations.

“The former governor was not and will never be involved in any unauthorised use of government property and resources.

“We strongly believe that after four demanding years as chief executive of Lagos state, Mr Ambode is entitled to some deserved rest with his family and loved ones without the unwarranted attacks on his well-earned reputation,” the statement said.

Ambode said he believes that at this critical time of the country, all hands must be on deck to support “our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), both at the state and national levels in order to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to Lagosians and Nigerians respectively.”

Review how a Federal High Court in Lagos, presided by Justice Chuka Obiozor, ordered the freezing of the three accounts belonging to the Lagos state government while the EFCC alleged that they were linked to Ambode.

  • El-Zakzaky and wife granted bail to travel abroad for medical treatment

El-Zakzaky and wife granted bail to travel abroad for medical treatment

An  High Court in Kaduna on Monday has given an order that the government should release the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat so that they can seek medical treatment in India.

Justice Darius Khobo of Kaduna State High Court, gave the ruling granted Elzakzaky leave to seek for medical attention in New Delhi, India.

Khobo while granting the IMN leader the leave said he would travel in company of State officials.

He said the IMN leader must return immediately after his discharge from the hospital to face his charges.

The IMN leader and his wife had applied to the court seeking to travel, following poor health while in detention.

The State Director of Public Prosecution, Mr Dari Bayero, briefed newsmen, shortly after Monday’s ruling in Kaduna.

Bayero, who is the respondent in El-Zazaky’s application, said the team had taken time and examined the eight medical reports by Nigerian and foreign doctors that accompanied the IMN leader’s application.

“The context of the court ruling is that Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife are granted leave to travel out for urgent medical attention.

“The court looked through the medical reports filed and believed Mallam is indeed in dire need of medical attention.

“This is not a bail, but a leave to travel. So as soon as his discharge from the hospital and he returns to the country, his trial will resume,” he said.

Bayero said the team of lawyers would study the ruling and explore whether there is a need for appeal, “We have a month to go through that.”

On his part, Mr Marshal Abubakar, counsel to El-Zakzaky recalled that before July 29, the lead counsel to the applicant, Femi Falana was in the court to move the application, which was adjourned to today.

“It is not a bail application as is being wrongly reported by some media, it was an application to save the life of the applicants, El-Zakzaky and his wife.”

According to him, “The ruling came up today and the court graciously agreed with Mr Femi Falana SAN and the various medical reports that were attached to the applications.

“There were eight medical reports that clearly show the applicants are in dire need of medical treatment abroad.

“The court agreed that they should be allowed to seek treatment that they sort for and with supervision,” Marshal said.

El-Zazaky had in the application said he and his wife would return to Nigeria as soon as they were discharged.

The IMN leader is standing trial in another court over allegations of culpable homicide, unlawful assembly and disruption of public peace among other charges.

Justice Gideon Kurada, who was handling the case, had on April 25 adjourned the trial of the IMN leader indefinitely.

The indefinite adjournment was to enable the judge to serve on the panel of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal in Yobe State.

  • 3 Times It’s OK to Keep Away From Your Partner

3 Times It’s OK to Keep Away From Your Partner

Being in a committed relationship means having someone to support you, to help you, and be on your side. But that understanding can sometimes lead to pressure that you and your partner should always be together.

However, having a little time out is great for a relationship. Not just in the sense that you should have your own hobbies, but also because sometimes you just need a break from your partner. This means taking a little time out occasionally can keep your relationship happy and healthy.

Here are some of the times when it’s definitely OK to take a little break.

    1. When you’re no longer sure about the relationship
If you find yourself constantly questioning the relationship and really wondering if it’s the right relationship for you, then you may need to take a break.

If you’re spending lots of time with your partner, you can’t get the view that you need to decide whether or not the relationship is actually working. Taking some time away will let you approach the issue with a clear head.

    2. When it feels like you’re losing yourself
Maybe you’ve been at home with kids or you’ve been focused on how stressed out their job is and trying to help. If you ever find that your needs have been completely shifted to one side and you feel like you’re just part of a couple—rather than a person—you need a break.

Taking one weekend off with friends will do the trick or maybe you need to just go away for a few days and get back in touch with what you want.

    3. You’re getting on each other’s nerves
A good sign that you and your partner need a little more space is if you’re starting to find each other difficult. Spending too much time together can mean you start seeing all of the tiny things that are wrong with each other and you stop seeing why you love each other so much in the first place.

Either find more time in the course of your normal schedule to take breaks from each other or decide to take a weekend with friends and reset.

Bishop Oyedepo Curses Jeremiah Omolara’s Killers (Winners’ Chapel Pastor Kaduna)

Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (aka Winners’ Chapel International), David Oyedepo, has cursed the killers of the resident pastor of the church’s branch in Romi New Extension, Kaduna State, Jeremiah Omolara, Igbere TV reports.

The pastor was shot dead while his wife was kidnapped along Kaduna-Abuja Road last Sunday.

The son was said to have escaped the attack.

Oyedepo was visibly upset on Thursday night when he spoke on the killing at the Day 2 of the church’s Week of Spiritual Emphasis, according to Church Gist on Facebook.

“Just last Sunday night for those of us who may have heard the news, one of our pastors was hacked down by Fulani herdsmen from Abuja to Kaduna,” he began.

“I want you to know, that it’s the last they will do (Amen) because I am going to lead you now to release curse of God upon his assailants and all their backers.

“Except I am not sent, their end has come. This evil system will crash. And I am speaking as a Prophet, not as a pastor, like somebody walking on the street. This evil system that has no value for life, this wicked system – Fulani demons: In the name of Jesus, their end has come.

“Cursed be these Fulani herdsmen, cursed be their generations, cursed be their sponsors in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus Christ, we have cursed,” Oyedepo said.

  • 6 Attributes that Tell Your Partner is a Hopeless Romantic

6 Attributes that Tell Your Partner is a Hopeless Romantic

Yeah there are hopeless romantics, such persons are all about giving as much romantic love as they can give.

According to withinnigeria.com here is a list of things that’ll help you recognise a hopeless-romantic when you see one…

    1. They are always mushy
It does not take too much to get them smiling and all lovey-dovey. You don’t even need to try hard. Every little thing is a hit with them.

    2. They go all out
There are no half-measures with these people. When they plan something, they always go all out. Handmade gifts, heartfelt letters, extra special dinners, there’s never a limit to their willingness to show you how much they love you.

    3. Their romance game is A1
Romance here does not necessarily imply the body-touching meaning that has been generally alluded to it. Sometimes being with hopeless romantics can be like living out a movie dream. Enjoy the bliss of it! Sometimes being with them can be like living out a movie dream.

Enjoy the bliss of it! They give as good as they get, and often times better. They get just as much enjoyment from romancing as they do being romanced.

    4. They just always want to be with you
Whether it’s staying indoor all day, or going out, simply gazing at the stars, or dinner at 5-star hotels, it does not matter so far they are with who they love.

‘Love don’t cost a thing’ best applies to them.

    5. They are needy
Hopeless romantics don’t really demand public/extravagant display of affection; what they need is constant display of affection.

This could actually make them come across as needy most times, but it’s just their nature.

    6. They have plenty of fantasies they’ll want to live out
Life, to them, is just a big dream. They want to try stuff made in the movies, they want the Harlequin, Mills and Boon definition of romance.

Yari Threatens To Sue Media Organisations Over EFCC

Abdulaziz Yari, the former governor of Zamfara State, has made a threat to take legal actions against some media organisations for publishing what he described as fake news against him.

In a statement on Thursday by his spokesman, Ibrahim Dosara, Yari alleged that three media outfits (names withheld) were out to smear his image, Igbere TV reports.

The former governor’s threat followed the raid of his Zamfara residence August 4 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Yari highlighted a headline of one of the outfits which read “Re: Exotic automobiles uncovered in former gov. Yari’s home’’ saying it was untrue.

He added that the concerned media outfits had captioned their reports in the following manner: “N2.35 billion IDPs fund was misappropriated by the former Gov.

“N3. 51 billion ecological fund was misappropriated by the former Gov.“These are the allegations made against the former governor and credited to the EFCC.”

Yari warned the media outfits to retract their reports within 24 hours or face legal action.

“On the issue of the alleged IDPs N35 billion the newspapers accused the former governor of, I challenge these newspapers to publish to the public, the name of persons or institutions that gave him such amount of money or indeed any penny for the IDPs. Otherwise, the former governor will take legal action,” the statement said.

The spokesman also said the EFCC did not find anything incriminating against Yari, saying his camp was waiting to see what would be done to the whistleblower.
