Zamfara State Govt To Procure Additional 1,500 Trucks Of Fertilizer

Zamfara state government has approved the procurement of 1500 truck of fertilizers for distribution to Farmers at subsidized rate.

This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for agriculture and natural resources, Dr Aminu Suleman Yarkofoji during the launching and distribution of 2020 fertilizer and other inputs for season farming at fertilizer store in Gusau.

Dr. Aminu Suleman Yarkofoji, said the fertilizer is to be distributed to Farmers at subsidized price to boost their farming activities, adding that, all efforts have been made by the state government to boost agriculture in the state including settlement of all counterpart funding for agricultural interventions such as IPAD and fadama III projects.
Dr Aminu Suleman commended the state Governor, Dr Bello Muhammad (Matawallen Maradun) for his efforts towards the successful 2020 launching, adding that the, state government has done a lot to the farmers despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
In his speech, the state deputy Governor, Barrister Mahadi Aliyu Gusau, said the state government will sale the fertilizer to the farmers at the rate of N6000 per bag.
Barrister Mahadi Aliyu Gusau appealed to Farmers to make judicious use of the fertilizer not to sale it out, adding that the state government has assured to do everything possible to assist Farmers with farming inputs for raining and dry season farming.
In his welcome address, the permanent secretary, state Ministry for Agriculture and natural resources, Alhaji Usman Nabirgi (Magayakin Bakura) thanked all those who attended the occasion and prayed Allah to return them back to their respective distinations safely.
