Am still in the race – Adeniyi

By Richard Akintade

The House of Assembly Candidate for Ede North State Constituency in Osun state, under the platform of Action Democratic Party, ADP, Alh. Hon. Imam. Adebowale Azeem Adeniyi has denied rumours making the rounds in the town and on social media that he has already concluded plans to quit the race.

Hon Adeniyi made it clear to newsmen in Osogbo the Osun State capital on Thursday that he is still very much in the race for the March 2nd election and described the rumour widely circulated as laughable.

Hon Adeniyi who stated that there is no reason for him to quit the House of Assembly’s race said that, he has no reason to quit at this point in time saying, jostling for the position was not his own making but the call from his teeming supporters.

According to him, ” I have concluded to serve my people wholeheartedly and nothing would stop me. My going to the house of Assembly is not to play or to warm bench but to contribute my quotas and fight for the right of the entire people of my constituency”.

He said, the rumour that he has quit the race was a blatant lie which is far from the truth saying he has not quit the race neither stepping down for anybody while calling on his teeming supporters and entire people of Ede North State Constituency to ignore and condemn the rumour which he described as political statement from the opposition to distract and confused the people of the area ahead of the election.

“I promise to work for the development of the entire Ede North State Constituency and my representation would work for the betterment of all and sundry if finally emerged” he added.
