Tinubu Directs Ministers to Update Nigerians on Their Activities and Policies

By Abigail Philip David and

The Federal Government has launched ministerial press briefings as part of efforts to enhance transparency and accountability in governance.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday.

Idris revealed that President Bola Tinubu has instructed all ministers to regularly brief the media about their activities and policies.

These briefings, according to Idris, will provide a platform for ministers to engage directly with the public, showcase significant developments in their ministries, and address concerns from Nigerians.

Idris also shared that other ministers will take turns each week to update the public, as part of the ongoing press briefings.

This initiative is in line with the lead-up to the second anniversary of Tinubu’s administration, underscoring the government’s dedication to keeping citizens informed about its programs and policies.
