By Richard Akintade

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Osun State, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi on has flagged off campaign of the party in Iwo Federal Constituency and urged the constituents to vote massively for the party and her candidates in 2019.

Speaking in Iwo, in Iwo local government area of the state during the flag off, Ogunbiyi said that PDP was on a mission to rescue and restore Nigeria in 2019.

The PDP Chief added that Alhaji Lukman Mudashiru, the House of Representatives candidate of PDP in the constituency and Alh. Rufayi Adeniyi Ismail, Hon. Ogunbiyi Akinyemi Solomon as well as Hon. Bilawu Saheed Abire, the Iwo, Ayedire, Olaoluwa House of Assembly candidates of the party respectively, are capable and competent to represent the constituency.

Ogunbiyi together with the PDP state treasurer, Hon. Adesoye Oyetunde and Chief Olaoye Oyelayo in company of several other stalwarts of the party flagged off the campaign, assuring that the candidates would serve the interest of the people.

The well attended campaign flag off and rally which was preceded by a visit to the palace of Oluwo of Iwo, Oba AbdulRasheed Akanbi, had hundreds of the party faithful in attendance.

Earlier, while addressing his coordinators and supporters at his residence in Ile-Ogbo in Ayedire local government area of the state, Ogunbiyi said, “If you move around the state, you would see that many people are living in penury and underserved. The generation of our youths has been compromised because of bad leadership.”

“At my individual level, I have long been supporting the helpless. Nonetheless, little could be done by individuals. Therefore, my motivation in politics is to make impact and help the helpless, much more than I could as an individual.”

“The journey so far is known to God and I will continue to trust Him. I remain resolute to this course and committed to our great party. I am not leaving politics,” Ogunbiyi noted, and urged his loyalists to remain steadfast.
