Former Senator Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio has promised to work with the Border Communities Development Commission to address the infrastructural deficit plaguing border communities in Ini Local Council of Akwa Ibom.
Akpabio who is the All Progressive Congress Senatorial candidate for Akwa Ibom North West made the pledge weekend during his tour of wards in the area in preparation for the February 25 election.
The former governor of Akwa Ibom State lamented that the area has not benefitted from the agency because they have neither knowledge of its existence or access, pointing out that he is returning to the Senate with knowledge and experience.
The immediate past Minister of Niger Delta Affairs said that he would leverage on his experience and vast contact to bring federal presence to Ini especially Usuk Ukwok which is a border community.
He reminded the people of the area of the several development projects he gave the area as Governor and pledged to do more when he would return to the national assembly adding that a victory for him would increase the chances of an Akwa Ibom person occupying a higher office at the national level.
