The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday in Lokoja formally presented its Flag to Kogi governorship candidate, Senator Dino Melaye.
The State Chairman of the Party, Engr. Sam Ohotu who made the presentation, called for the unity of members to work for the victory of Dino Melaye come November 11 governorship election in the state.
“Iam very sure that if we play our part as party members, PDP will take over the Lugard House b January 27, 2024”
Former Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris vowed to work for the victory of Senator Dino Melaye as he remains a PDP member and father to the party.
“I will support whoever the party has endorsed irrespective of the zone I came from in Kogi.”How do you expect me to leave my party and work for another one”? He asked.
“We should see ourselves as members of one family and work together for the victory of PDP candidate” Ex-governor Idris pleaded.
In his remarks, Senator Tunde Ogbeha and PDP Chieftain praised the people of Kogi East and Central for respecting the principle of power rotation in Kogi among three senatorial districts.
“My appeal to all members and supporters of PDP is to join hands and work together to deliver Dino Melaye at the polls”
In his acceptance speech, the governorship candidate of PDP, Senator Dino Melaye asked for the forgiveness of members whom he might have offended in one way or the other especially the aggrived ones.
He thanked members for giving him the opportunity to fly the party’s flag with an assurance that he will not betray the confidence reposed in him.
“I will also ensure peace and stability in the provision of democracy dividends to the people of the state if elected” as civil servants will be paid their leave bonuses, gratuity and pensions to retired civil servants and full salaries for local government staff and primary school teachers. Dino promised.
