Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said he has not made up his mind on when to make public his interest in the 2023 general elections.
The Vice President said he won’t be making the declaration immediately after the upcoming national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, in a statement described such reports as “sponsored speculations.
Akande noted that updates on the activities and actions of the Vice President can only come from his office, adding that he has not informed anyone about his plan for official declaration for President.
He pointed out that Osinbajo is occupied with the duties entrusted tp him by the President Muhammadu Buhari.
“I’ve seen “news” that VP ‘ll announce presidential bid after APC’s convention. Anyone reading the story ‘ll know it’s all false and speculative snippets.
“Any information on activities and actions of the VP will come directly from his office and not sponsored speculations in the press.
“The VP continues focusing all his attention on the work of this administration and on supporting Mr. President in every possible way. Please continue to ignore the speculations” he said.
