Veteran Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face, has addressed the long-running rift between himself and former bandmate Blackface, while clarifying the role of their other ex-bandmate, Faze.
Recall that 2Face and Blackface have been embroiled in an on-and-off feud for years, with Blackface repeatedly accusing 2Face of intellectual property theft—claims the latter has consistently denied.
Speaking to fans during his performance at the recent Made in Benue Festival in Makurdi, 2Face disclosed that Faze has remained neutral in the dispute, stressing that the disagreement does not involve him in any way.
“You all know that Plantashun Boiz consisted of Blackface, 2Face and Faze. But due to some unforeseen circumstances, Blackface is not with us right now,” he said.
He added, “No matter the beef wey me and Blackface get, nothing concern Faze inside. So Faze is right here with me, and we will represent Plantashun Boiz.”
The feud between 2Face and Blackface dates back to the early 2000s, following the disbandment of their former music group, Plantashun Boiz. After the split, Blackface accused 2Face of being responsible for the breakup and alleged that he stole some of his songs.
Despite several attempts at reconciliation over the years, the relationship between the two artists has remained strained, with peace efforts often proving short-lived.
