Federal High Court to Go on Easter Break April 8

The Federal High Court of Nigeria, will on April 8, proceed on holiday for the Easter celebration. The break which will be for a period of two weeks ends on April 25.

According to a statement, the break approved by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, was granted pursuant to the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4 (b) of the Federal High Court ( Civil Procedures) Rules, 2019 (as amended).

The statement signed by the Chief Information Officer of the court, Mrs Catherine, disclosed that courts shall resume in all judicial divisions on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.

She statee that during the vacation, Abuja, Lagos and Port-Harcourt judicial divisions shall remain open to the public for cases of extreme urgency, adding that Abuja division will handle cases from the Federal Capital Territory, North Central, North West and North Eastern parts of the Country.

“The Lagos division will be for cases from Lagos State and South Western States while Port-Harcourt division will handle cases from the South-South and South- Eastern states”, the statement read.

During the period, Justice Ahmed Mohammed and Justice Nkeonye Maha, will sit as vacation Judges in Abuja, while Justices Tijjani Ringim and A. O. Awogboro will be on duties for Lagos and Justices A. T. Mohammed and S. I. Mark as vacation Judges in Port Harcourt.

The Chief Judge wished his fellow Judges, stakeholders and the general public a wonderful Easter vacation, the statement added.
