Ukandi Odey, Jos

Dr Patrick Dakum has emerged as the leading and most preferred aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the race to occupy government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, hots up.

In an opinion survey conducted by the Plateau Progressives Youth Network, Dakum, whose campaign philosophy is ‘Consolidation for Greater Plateau’, polled a total of 16,718 votes, in an opinion survey conducted across the state over four days, to floor his closest rival, Nentawe Yilwatda, who managed 14,953.

With a total of 36,244 votes cast, Dakum’s votes of 16,718 represent 46.1%, while runners up, Nentawe’s votes represent 41.3%.

The poll results indicate further that two other candidates, Sunday Garba Biggs and deputy governor, Sonni Gwanle Tyoden, polled 2,274 and 1,929 apart, accounting for 6.3% and 5.3% respectively to place third and fourth in the voter preference.

In declaring Patrick Sunday Dakum of the on-line poll, the Plateau Progressives youth Network, PPYN, organisers of the opinion survey, expressed appreciation to those who responded and participated in the poll, and accordingly endorsed the aspirant and recommended him to the delegates as the party’s gubernatorial congress approaches.

Until further notice, Patrick Sunday Dakum is the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Human Virology, Abuja, Nigeria.
