Bandits On Rampage, kill 2 Police Officers, Two Expatriates, Two Staff, Abducts workers Of Ceramics Coy In Kogi

Bandits on rampage in Kogi as unknown Gunmen killed two expatriates, two drivers and two Police Inspectors working with royal ceramic company limited in Ajaokuta local government area of Kogi state were on Friday evening killed by unknown gunmen.

In the attack that occurred around 8:30pm on Friday, six people were killed while three of the expatriates were also abducted by the gunmen.

The victims were attacked immediately the expatriates left the factory in a coaster bus to their residents at Niger Bridge quarters a distance of about five hundred metres away from the company.

The corpses of the victims whose bodies were badly damaged by bullets have been deposited at the mortuary of ASCO medical centre in Ajaokuta.

Kogi State Police Command on Saturday confirmed the killings in statement signed by the Public Relation Officer of Kogi State Police Command William Ayah.

The statement said the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Ebuka, who was at the scene of the attack in Ajaokuta for on the spot assessment, has ordered the deployment of additional operational assets consisting of operatives of the police mobile force, counter terrorism unit, Quick Response Unit and State Intelligence Bureau.

The Commissioner of Police however, assured that the Command is committed to working in synergy with other security agencies to make the State a safe and secure place for all and sundry.

He tasked the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to commence investigations into the unfortunate incident with a view to unravel the hideout of the hoodlums.

Meanwhile, Kogi State Government while reacting, described the killing by yet to be identified gunmen as unfortunate and condemnable.

In a statement issued by the State Commissioner for information and communication, Kingsley Fanwo stated that the Police and other security agencies are currently combing the area to apprehend the perpetrators of the heinous act.

Recalled that unknown Gunmen within the week invaded Ajaokuta Kaduna estate kidnapped three children to an unknown destination, demanding a ransom of #100m.
