2023: Northern Christian body endorse Tinubu, Shettima

A Group under the aegis of Christian Northern Nigeria Political Forum (CNNPF), has endorsed the presidential candidatures of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Kashim Shettima of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The Forum made the declaration during a meeting held at Yar’adua Hall, in Kaduna state.

The occasion, heavily attended by members of the Forum and supporters of APC was graced by Kaduna state Governor Malam Nasir El-rufai and wife of the APC Presidential Candidate Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, the Kaduna state deputy Governor Haj. Hadiza Balarabe among other dignitaries.

In an address by the forum’s coordinator, Mr. Ibrahim Itodo said the choice to fly the APC ticket was based on Tinubu’s demonstrable capacity, competence and track record, rather than religion.

The event which witnessed thousands of Christians from across northern states received the wife of the APC Presidential candidate, Senator Oluremi Tinubu in Kaduna in joyful excitement.

The group coordinator also said the forum endorsed Senator Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President come 2023, for his religious tolerance leadership as a devote Muslim husband of devote Christian wife and father to all biological Christian children.

Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe received the entourage of Senator Remi Tinubu who was accompanied by the Governors of Kano and Katsina, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Aminu Bello Masari.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai, who came to the meeting later said the APC Governors from the northwestern states took two decisions before the party’s convention to ensure that the Presidency returns to the South after Buhari’s eight-year tenure adding that Tinubu should be supported because of his towering record that surpassed all other southern candidates of the party.
El-Rufai admonished Nigerians to reject the religious narratives, saying though a Muslim, Tinubu’s wife is a senior pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God and has remained so after over 30 years of her marriage.

He added that judging by how Tinubu transformed Lagos state under eight years, he is capable of transforming Nigeria into a better and greater country when elected as the next president.
