Tinubu warns Buhari to anticipate criticism regardless of his location, be it Daura or Niger.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the President-elect, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to be prepared for criticism, whether he chooses to reside in his hometown of Daura, Katsina state, or in Niger Republic.

During the Investiture Ceremony in Abuja, Tinubu made this statement in his speech on Thursday.

He remarked, “Anticipate criticisms whether you choose to reside in Daura, Niger Republic, or anywhere else.”Tinubu’s comment coincided with President Buhari’s bestowing of the National Honour of Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR) upon the incoming President of Nigeria.

The Investiture Ceremony for the President-Elect and Vice President-Elect, Kashim Shettima, included the conferment of the GCFR honor upon them.

President Buhari, who expressed his eagerness to hand over in the coming days, will officially pass the baton to Tinubu on Monday, May 29.

Earlier, President Buhari had expressed confidence in Tinubu’s ability to sustain the momentum of his administration.

During the Presidential Fleet Review event at the Naval Dockyard Limited in Lagos on Monday, President Buhari assured that the incoming administration would continue supporting the Nigerian Navy and maintaining the existing relationship.

The President expressed his confidence in the incoming administration of President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that it would maintain the current level of support provided to the Navy to effectively carry out its tasks.

He expressed his expectation that this support would lead to the Navy’s enhanced capability to secure Nigeria’s maritime environment and utilize its vast resources for the country’s socio-economic development.

Regarding the administration’s efforts in strengthening the Navy fleet over the past seven years, the President highlighted the acquisition of various capital ships, patrol vessels, assault craft, and helicopters.

Nevertheless, President Buhari expressed his hope that under Tinubu’s leadership, the Navy would continue to procure new assets, expand shipbuilding for export purposes, promote local production, intensify the fight against piracy, and address challenges related to crude oil theft in Nigeria’s maritime domain.
