Good News: Muslims Contribute Money as Ransom for 18 Kidnapped Christians – Kaduna CAN Chair

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kaduna State, Rev. Joseph Hayab, has revealed that some Muslims contributed money as ransom to release about 18 kidnapped victims from the Mandala church. He described this as good news.

He made these remarks while confirming the authenticity of the press statement credited to the former CAN National Director of Legal and Public Affairs, Kwamkur Samuel, regarding Nasir El-rufai’s viral video against Christians and Islamization.

In a voice message, the CAN chairman said another piece of good news is that Muslims have contributed money and paid it as ransom for about 18 kidnapped Christians in another location in Madala.

“The other good news is that, in another place, Muslims have contributed money and also bought motorcycles to give to the bandits as ransom for the release of their Christian neighbors.

“This is indeed a good example of godly, caring, and sincere neighbors, not neighbors who want to rejoice because of the pains of their neighbors.

“So we salute those Muslim communities in Madalah. In fact, the church in Kaduna State is happy with their kind of example and prays that they continue to be a good example of good neighboringness.

“It was a painful experience for the church, but the end of it turned out to be another good lesson for all of us to learn about good relationships.

“The 16 or 18 members of the church in Madala in Buruku, Chikun LGA of Kaduna State are now back home. We thank God for their safe deliverance. Some of them with injuries are being treated in the hospital,” he stated.
