Chat Matters: Exploring Africans’ Knowledge of the Giant Panda

In anticipation of the 31st FISU World University Games, taking place in Chengdu, the capital city of China’s Sichuan Province, CGTN Africa conducted a captivating survey on the streets of Africa.

The aim was to gauge how much Africans know about the beloved Giant Panda. Participants eagerly took part in a quick quiz, demonstrating their admiration for these vulnerable creatures and expressing heartfelt gratitude to China for their efforts in protecting them.

Sichuan Province in China has long been hailed as a panda paradise, providing a crucial habitat for these enchanting animals. Once classified as an endangered species, the Giant Panda has shown signs of progress, being downgraded to the “vulnerable” category on the global list of species at risk of extinction in 2021. This positive development gives hope to conservationists and animal lovers worldwide.
