Ministerial nominee: John Owan Enoh profile/biography

Must read

Born On June 4, 1966, an eminent Nigerian figure emerged – a seasoned politician, accomplished farmer, and devoted philanthropist.

Enoh hails from the Agbokim Waterfall community in Cross River State[1] where he spent his formative years. He is happily married to Rachel Owan-Enoh, and they share the joys of parenthood with their children.

In the 8th Assembly of the Nigerian Senate, Enoh served as a distinguished Senator, representing the Central Senatorial District of Cross River State in 2015[3]. Initially affiliated with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), he made a significant decision in May 2017 when he switched his allegiance and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)[4]. Subsequently, Enoh vied for the governorship position[5] but faced defeat, losing to the incumbent governor, Ben Ayade.

Aside from politics, Enoh is also a successful farmer with numerous farms in Cross River State. Since starting in 2000, his farming venture has cultivated about 2000 hectares of land, focusing on arable and livestock production. Notably, he operates an out-grower scheme, empowering local small-scale farmers in the communities where his farms are located by providing support and access to markets for their products.

In addition to his political endeavors, Enoh is actively involved in philanthropy. He has established the JOE (John Owan Enoh) Foundation, which focuses on providing assistance and support to people living with diabetes in Nigeria[8].
