Aisha Lawal Prefers to Keep Personal Life Private from Social Media Glare

By Daniel Edu

Aisha Lawal, a renowned actress, has been making significant strides in her career. However, in contrast to several of her peers, she maintains a low profile concerning her personal life on social media platforms.

During an interview with Saturday Beats, she revealed that this approach was deliberate. She remarked, “I am a quintessential Yoruba lady. My upbringing in Ibadan, Oyo State, instilled in me the Yoruba belief that concealed matters hold greater esteem. Moreover, my mother, a retired principal, doesn’t tolerate nonsense. I make a conscious effort to avoid anything that could potentially embarrass my children when they come across it in the future.”

She further emphasized that while some actors believe that engaging in controversies can enhance their careers, maintaining an unblemished reputation is equally vital. She expressed, “The industry often touts the notion that all publicity, whether favorable or unfavorable, is beneficial. Nevertheless, I firmly believe that upholding a clean track record holds its own value. Just as writing on an unmarked blackboard is legible, whereas a cluttered one obscures the message.”

Discussing her role in the popular film “Jagun Jagun,” Lawal revealed, “Certain scripts instantly exude an aura of significance. That’s precisely how I felt when I received the script for the movie.”

Whenever presented with a script, she evaluates the complexity of her role, scrutinizes the storyline’s appeal, and contemplates her enthusiasm to be a part of it. Additionally, the financial aspect plays a role in her decision-making process.

Addressing her attraction to epic movies, Lawal commented, “Many actresses in my age group shy away from roles in epic movies, perhaps due to the mystical elements and other factors. However, I relish tackling challenges head-on.”

The actress also conveyed her enthusiasm for the current developments within the film industry. She enthused, “The surge in high-quality films is a source of delight. I’ve always believed that Nollywood possesses a storytelling prowess, albeit somewhat unnoticed. Nonetheless, the industry is evolving, and our presence is enduring.”
