“Leah Sharibu Allegedly “Remarries” Terrorist Commander After Divorce from First Husband”

By  Milcah  Tanimu

According to local security sources, Leah Sharibu, the girl who had been held captive by members of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), has reportedly “remarried” another terrorist commander. This comes after purportedly securing a divorce from her first “husband,” whom she was forcefully given to during her captivity.

Leah Sharibu was originally abducted, along with over 100 schoolmates, from Government Girls Technical College in Dapchi, Yobe State, on February 19, 2018.

Reports suggest that Leah, after her alleged divorce from a man named Abdulrahman, has entered into a new marriage with an ISWAP commander named Ali Abdallah, operating in the Lake Chad area.

One of the security sources disclosed that Leah was initially married to Abdulrahman after reportedly converting to Islam, and they had two children together, both boys named after two deceased Boko Haram commanders.

The source further explained that Leah had undergone training during her captivity, specifically in providing medical services to injured Boko Haram fighters and women. Terrorist groups in the North East often force captives with expertise in various fields, such as medicine, nursing, engineering, and computer science, to train their members.

Leah is said to lead the ISWAP medical team in the northern part of the Lake Chad area.

Another source revealed that Leah, her alleged husband, and other fighters were recently sighted at Dogon Chukwun kangarwa. However, they are reportedly facing persecution from a Boko Haram commander loyal to Shekau, Malam Bakura.

The source also mentioned that a large contingent of ISWAP fighters had been observed migrating from the area, carrying a cache of dangerous weapons along their route through Guzamala forest, Cross, Mosquito camp, Garin-giwa (where Governor Zulum’s convoy was attacked), Munguno, and Gajiram.
