The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, is currently engaged in a meeting with a delegation of dissatisfied lawmakers from the Ondo State House of Assembly. They are accompanied by members of the reconciliation committee established to address the ongoing tension surrounding the planned impeachment of the state deputy governor, Lucky Ayiedatiwa.
The delegation, escorted by stern-looking security personnel, arrived at the APC national secretariat at approximately 1:25 p.m. This development occurs eight days after Ganduje formed the committee to mediate in the political dispute between the conflicting parties.
The committee’s mandate includes interfacing and engaging with all parties involved to gather information and context regarding the protracted impeachment process of the Ondo State deputy governor. The committee is expected to provide the party with recommendations for resolving the issues and any other matters arising during their assignment.
The Aminu Masari-led committee comprises individuals such as the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Benue politician, Senator Jack Tilley Gyado; former Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Tanko Al-Makura; former Governor of Ebonyi State, Martin Elechi; and former Governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Abubakar.
As of the time of this report, the specific agenda for the closed-door meeting has not been disclosed.
