President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Muyi Aina as the new Executive Secretary of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) and Dr. Kelechi Ohiri as the Director General of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), both falling under the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
President Tinubu has urged the new Chief Executives of these two health agencies to prioritize quality, fairness, and accountability in the provision of world-class healthcare to all segments of Nigerian society.
Dr. Muyi Aina is a globally renowned public health leader, holding a Master’s in Public Health degree from Harvard University (USA) and a Doctorate degree from Johns Hopkins University (USA), following his initial medical certification from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin.
Dr. Kelechi Ohiri most recently served as the Managing Director for Strategy at the Global Alliance for Vaccines in Geneva, Switzerland. He holds a Master’s in Public Health degree from Harvard University (USA) and another Master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, following his initial medical certification from the University of Lagos.
