NCC hooks up Nigerians to SmartClinic mobile health app for ease of healthcare services

The Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC, has facilitated the SmartClinic mobile health care app for ease of healthcare services for Nigerians.
The NCC  Executive Commissioner, Technical Services, Engineer Ubale Maska disclosed this at the NCC 2023 Talent Hunt Research through the Hackathon held today in  Abuja.
 Maska said that the SmartClinic  is a mobile web solution that easily connects patients through a mobile health app with a Hospital Information Management System, HIMS, for easy access to healthcare services.
Maska disclosed that the  innovative  has an array of features which  includes  COVID-19 self-assessment, hospital registration through the app, instant consultation options encompassing chat, voice, and video, and comprehensive documentation by doctors.
By this, the Commission has
 connected  the app to four teaching hospitals and two- state-owned hospitals across six geopolitical zones in the country.
Maska said, “This occasion is of paramount importance as it aligns perfectly with one of the core objectives embedded within our new Strategic Vision Plan (SVP) for the years 2023-2025.”
‘ Our primary aim is to foster the development of cutting-edge technologies through rigorous research, thereby catalyzing sustainable economic growth and overall development within Nigeria.”
He noted that the transformative power of the Commission  knows no bounds, as it  seeks groundbreaking solutions, that contribute to the progress and prosperity of Nigeria.
NCC Director, Research and Development, Alhaji Ismail  Adegbite who appreciated  the  young innovators and participants   to the Hackathon Talent Hunt acknowledged their  pivotal role in addressing the  industrial challenges and formulating technology-driven solutions that yield tangible social impact in the country.
Adegbite said, ” Consequently, the advancement of the Telecommunication sector, and doing so in a manner that is sustainable and ethical, should be a collective concern for all of us. The rate of growth experienced by the Telecom sector, thanks to innovative research, is nothing short of enviable.”
The Chairman, Panel of Judges for the Hackathon, Prof. Mohammed Hajiya, commended the Commission for promoting technology innovation,  applauded the winners and other innovators who participated and encouraged them to contribute to leveraging their solutions to develop the Nigerian economy.
