The suspension on embattled Chairman of Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State, Hon. Rabo Nasara, has been lifted and he has been reinstated back to office, just as eight councilors were suspensed from office.
The chairman was recalled back on Friday in a letter issued and signed by the Clerk to the Legislature of Kaduna State House of Assembly, Barr. (Mrs.) Sakinatu Hassan Idris.
The letter obtained by our correspondent, dated 2nd November 2023, with reference no.
LEG/KD/S.254/vOLI/308, was addressed to the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry for Local Government Affairs, Kaduna State.
In the letter entitled: “Recall of chairman, Kagarko local government council from suspension”, the legislature urged the LG affairs commissioner to take further necessary action.
It stated that “Based on the oversight function being carried out by the Ad-Hoc Committee on Local Governments, the 10th Kaduna State House of
Assembly resolved and directed me to notify you that the suspended
Chairman, Kagarko Local Government Council be recalled back to his position forthwith.
“The Ministry should inform the Hon. Chairman, Kagarko Local Government
Council, the Management of the Local Government and the Local
Government Service Board on the development.
“This is for your information and further action, please”, it stated.
Similarly, the eight Legislative council membera of Kagarko local government have been allegedly reportedly suspended from office.
The council chairman, Hon. Nasara who confirmed the information to our reporter said they were suspended for taken part in his purported impeachment held on Thursday.
Those affected in the suspension includes Hon. Danjuma Padalo- Iddah Ward; Hon. Adamu Abdulaziz Kagarko- South Ward; Livinus Makama – Aribi Ward; Samson Hazo – Katugal Ward; Hon Amos Egoh -Kushe Ward; Hon. Idris Abubakar -Jere North Ward; Hon. Zakaria Musa – Kukui Ward and Hon. Rabo Musa Kurmin Jibrin ward respectively.
Recalled that the Kagarko LGA chairman was was asked to step aside from office since about June this year for the State Assembly to carryout investigation following audit reports accusing him of alleged contract scandal.
