NAWOJians converge in Abuja to flag- off LADI BALA election campaign

Members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory,FCT, on Saturday in Abuja converged to flag-off the Ladi Bala Campaign as the National President candidate for the November 2023 Trennial delegates Elections.

The event attracted a large turnout of members who came out to support and give their unflinching support to Comrade Bala’s re-election for the next three years to consolidate on the gains of NAWOJ in the first three years of her stewardship.


Former NAWOJ President , Chief Mrs. Moji Makanjola, who officially did the flag-off led the other past presidents Kande Daniel, Evelyn Oyinlo and a senior NAWOJian Veronica Ogbele to endorse Comrade Ladi Bala as the only and qualified candidate due to her achievements and delivery on her promises in her first ternue in office.
Chief Makanjola, Mrs. Kande Daniel, Evenly Oyinlo and Veronica Ogbele all called for the re-election of Ladi Bala in the Triennial Delegates Conference, coming up in FCT on the 25th of November, 2023.

While unfolding her future plans for the Association, NAWOJ President Ladi Bala vowed to consolidate on her achievements and assured that her next tenure would bath the construction of the newly acquired NAWOJ land which she secured and the commissioning of NAWOJ HERVOICE Radio Station to be managed and operated mostly by female journalists.

She also promised to continue to expand the newly formed Strategic Agenda that aims to ensure training and re- trainings of members, organize gender based programmes and many more projects across the six geo-political zones of the country.

The Chairperson of Plateau State and National Coordinator of LADI BALA Campaign team , Nene Dung, commended the large turnout of members and show of solidarity to stand for truth, growth and development of NAWOJ under the leadership of Ladi Bala, adding she has exemplified herself as a selfless and exceptional leader to bring in innovations into the Association.

Mrs Dung further urged all NAWOJians to vote for Ladi Bala as NATIONAL PRESIDENT of NAWOJ.

To also support Ladi Bala re-election was former NUJ FCT Chairman , Amos Dunia and other media veterans who advised Ladi Bala to shun naysayers but to focused to keep taking NAWOJ to greater heights.

Contestants from different States at the flag-off show include the incoming DEPUTY NATIONAL PRESIDENT – Folake Adeniji, NATIONAL SECRETARY – Helen Udofa, VICE PRESIDENT ZONE D -Irenre Onechi, Chizoba Ogbeche ZONE D ZONAL SECRETARY – Juliana Ofoku, NATIONAL INTERNAL AUDITOR – Joyce Haruna, and Chairpersons from various States.
