“Bauchi Governor Reveals 51% Implementation of 2023 Budget, Cites Inflation as Constraint”

By  Milcah   Tanimu

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State disclosed that only 51% of the 2023 budget has been implemented, attributing the performance challenges to rising inflation. During the presentation of the N300 billion budget for the 2024 fiscal year at the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Governor Mohammed highlighted the impact of inflation on the budget implementation. He emphasized that inflation and the failure to meet projected capital receipts from development partners affected the overall execution, resulting in the achievement of about 51.6% by September 30, 2023. The proposed 2024 budget is 48.2% higher than that of 2023, reflecting increased revenue from subsidy removal and inflation trends.
