Must read

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has officially started the production of diesel and aviation fuel while awaiting the commencement of Petroleum Motor Spirit (petrol) production. Anthony Chiejina, the Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, confirmed the initiation of operations. The Dangote Group expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, government agencies, and stakeholders for their support, with Aliko Dangote emphasizing the project’s significance for Nigeria.

Dangote praised President Bola Tinubu’s support, stating, “This is a big day for Nigeria. We are delighted to have reached this significant milestone. This is a game-changer for our country.” The refinery, located in the Dangote Industries Free Zone, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, has the capacity to refine 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

The refinery’s production includes diesel and aviation fuel conforming to Euro V specifications. It can load 2,900 trucks a day and complies with global emission norms. Despite facing delays in petrol production due to crude oil supply, Nigerians anticipate the refinery’s positive impact on petroleum product prices.
