US restates committment to economic growth of Nigeria

By Ogenyi Ogenyi,Uyo

The United States has restated it’s committment to the economic growth and prosperity of Nigeria and her subnationals.

It has also commended Akwa Ibom for the incredible work done to combat the scourge of Covid-19 and HIV AIDS, as well as issues around climate change and the extractive industry.

US Consul General to Nigeria, Mr Will Stevens who also lauded the developmental strides currently ongoing in Akwa Ibom made this known when he paid a courtesy call on Governor Umo Eno last weekend in Uyo.

The visibly elated Stevens reiterated the call for robust partnership earlier made by the U. S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken during his visit to Nigeria last week, noting that Africa would define the future of the world.

He commended the Governor for his vision in education as well as other developmental strides he has recorded since inauguration eight months ago.

Welcoming the Consul General Eno thanked him for finding time to visit the state and spoke of his government’s readiness to collaborate further with American investors in the areas of oil and gas, blue economy, agriculture and tourism.

The Governor later conducted the Consul General to an inspection of the Model Primary School at the Christ the King School which is due for commissioning at the end of this month.
