Breaking: Abducted Wife of Slain Kwara Monarch Freed

In a recent development, the abducted wife of the late Olukoro of Koro Ekiti in Kwara State, General Segun Aremu-Cole (retd), along with two others, has reportedly regained their freedom.

Reports indicate that they were released late on Monday, marking a significant turn in their harrowing ordeal.

Confirming the news, Chief Samuel Ayobola, the Asiwaju of Koro, stated, “The news just received from home confirms that Olori and the girl have been released and have returned to Koro about 30 minutes ago.”

The tragic incident unfolded on February 1, 2024, when the monarch was fatally attacked by gunmen as he prepared for dinner. The assailants, after perpetrating the heinous act, abducted his wife and two others from the palace.

Initially, the abductors had demanded a ransom of N100 million, which was later reduced to N40 million, adding to the anguish of the community.

With the release of the abducted individuals, a glimmer of hope emerges amidst the grief and uncertainty that has shrouded the community. Further details are awaited as the situation unfolds.
