India Police Arrest Nigerian, Two Ghanaians for Drug Trafficking

The Delhi Police Special Cell has apprehended three individuals suspected of being involved in the distribution of party drugs, seizing a significant amount of narcotics in the process.

According to DCP Amit Kaushik, the suspects, identified as David Narh and Emmanuel Nsiah from Ghana, and Chimobi Okpara from Nigeria, were arrested after a total of 64 grams of high-quality cocaine and 20 ecstasy pills were confiscated from them.

Acting on information provided by the Trans Yamuna Range of Special Cell, Narh and Nsiah were intercepted on SFS Flats Road in Mayur Vihar Phase-3, Delhi. Upon search, 56.69 grams of cocaine and 20 ecstasy pills were found in their possession. Further investigation led to the arrest of Okpara, identified as the source of the contraband, and additional drugs were recovered from his residence in a Greater Noida Society.

Kaushik stated, “The Trans Yamuna Range of Special Cell received information about the movement of two individuals involved in supplying party drugs. Acting swiftly on the information, a team intercepted David Narh and Emmanuel Owusu Nsiah on SFS Flats Road, Mayur Vihar Phase-3, Delhi, and recovered a total of 56.69 grams of cocaine and 20 pills of ecstasy from them. A criminal case was registered against them, and they were taken into custody.”

He added, “Upon their disclosure, another accused, Chimobi David Okpara, was apprehended. A search warrant was obtained for his flat in a Greater Noida Society, where an additional 7.12 grams of cocaine was recovered. Efforts are underway to identify the full extent of the syndicate involved in this drug trafficking operation.”

Narh, hailing from Accra, Ghana, arrived in India in December 2023 due to economic difficulties. He was introduced to the narcotics trade by Okpara, whom he knew from Africa.

Nsiah, also from Accra, Ghana, moved to India in mid-January 2024 for better economic prospects, following advice from acquaintances. He was directed by Okpara to engage in drug deliveries.

Okpara, a 27-year-old Nigerian, arrived in India in 2018 and initially operated in Mumbai before settling in Casa Granda, Greater Noida, where he continued his illegal drug activities.
