Mohbad’s Father Denies Instructing Primeboy to Flee

Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has refuted allegations of orchestrating an escape plan for Owodunni Ibrahim, also known as Primeboy, following his son’s death.

Reacting to an interview by the deceased’s mother, Bosede Adeyemo, Aloba clarified that he never had any dealings with Primeboy since the incident occurred.

In the interview, Adeyemo asserted that her ex-husband instructed Primeboy, Mohbad’s childhood friend, to evade arrest and avoid implication in the late singer’s demise.

However, Mohbad’s father, in a statement issued by his lawyer, Monisola Odumosu, on Friday, emphasized that he only encountered Primeboy once, during the coroner’s court proceedings.

The statement elucidated, “Our client wishes to state that he did not and has not engaged in any discussions regarding his son’s death or any other matters with Primeboy since the demise of his son, Ilerioluwa Aloba.”

It continued, “The only interaction they had after Mohbad’s death was at the coroner’s court session, where they exchanged pleasantries in the presence of everyone, with no discussions ensuing.”

Disputing Adeyemo’s claims, the statement affirmed that Mohbad’s father is committed to seeking justice for his late son and urged Primeboy to reveal all relevant information to the Coroner’s Court without shielding anyone.

The statement emphasized, “Mr. Joseph Aloba will not shield anyone, regardless of their status. He is determined to attain justice for his beloved son’s untimely demise. He urges Primeboy to disclose all he knows before the Coroner’s Court.”

It concluded by urging the public to disregard unfounded assertions and calling on Adeyemo to disclose any pertinent information she may have regarding Mohbad’s death.

Mohbad was signed to Marlian Records, owned by Afeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley. Following his demise, Marley and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, alias Sam Larry, were interrogated by the Lagos State Police Command.

Primeboy, declared wanted by the state police command on October 4, 2023, surrendered himself two days later. He later visited the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, with Ayobami Fisayo, alias Spending, on March 12, as part of the bail conditions granted to him.
