Breeze FM CEO Under Fire for Unpaid Salaries Amid Compensation Windfall

…Employees Allege Betrayal as Layoffs Follow Court Victory.

In a dramatic turn of events, the Chief Executive Officer of Breeze FM and one time gubernatorial candidate, Mr. Nawani Aboki, finds himself embroiled in controversy as allegations of unpaid salaries and strategic layoffs rock the media organization.

Amidst claims of financial mismanagement and betrayal, former employees are demanding justice and calling for the completion of outstanding payments.

The saga traces back to the demolition of Breeze FM’s facilities by former Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Almakura. Seeking restitution, Mr. Aboki pursued legal action and emerged victorious, securing over 72 million naira in compensation from the state government, with Governor Abdullahi Sule reportedly disbursing more than half of the awarded amount.

However, the jubilation over the court victory was short-lived for Breeze FM employees, as reports emerged that Mr. Aboki failed to fulfill his obligation to settle outstanding salaries, despite the compensation windfall.

Sources close to the matter revealed that the funds earmarked for employee remuneration were allegedly absorbed into the organization’s finances, leaving workers in limbo for over a year.

In a recent development, Mr. Aboki, now special Adviser to governor Sule executed mass layoffs, offering only two months’ worth of overdue wages to affected staff and prompting them to reapply for their positions if they wished to continue working.

The abrupt termination of employment has sparked outrage among employees, who accuse the CEO of disregarding their contributions and manipulating their livelihoods for his own benefit.

Expressing dismay over the situation, an anonymous staff member lamented, “The CEO didn’t do us well. We raised Breeze’s standard to this level, only to be tactically laid off as if we were never relevant.” The sentiments echoed by the affected employee reflect the broader discontent within the organization, as workers grapple with the aftermath of Mr. Aboki’s decisions.

In light of the mounting pressure and calls for accountability, former employees are appealing to Mr. Aboki to honor his commitment and settle their outstanding salaries, urging him to rectify the situation and restore peace within the Breeze FM community.
