Gunmen shoot FIRS official dead in Abuja

Tragedy struck in Maitama, Abuja, on Friday night as unidentified gunmen fatally shot Khalid Bichi, a middle-aged man and employee of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

The incident occurred just before 9 pm while Bichi was reportedly out to purchase food, according to reports from the Guardian. The assailants opened fire on him, resulting in multiple gunshot wounds.

Following the attack, Bichi was rushed to Maitama General Hospital, where medical personnel pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Described as an active presence on social media under the username @Khalid Bichi, the deceased was known to have connections with influential politicians, according to sources.

A funeral prayer for Khalid Bichi will be held today at 1:30 pm at Abuja National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
