Edo Queens Beats Nasarawa Amazons To Top Table In NWFL Super Six

Edo Queens football club has shot to topmost position in the ongoing Nigeria Women Football League Super Six following their 1-0 win over Nasarawa Amazons in the third match of matchday 4 on Friday in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Captain Suliat Abideen broke the deadlock on the 81 minute to send the Ada Bendel as Edo Queens are nicknamed to the top with nine points after four games.

Elsewhere, a brace by Chiamaka Okwuchukwu gifted 2nd placed Rivers Angels a 2-0 win over Confluence Queens while five time champions Bayelsa Queens dropped to 3rd from 1st after a frustrating goalless draw against bottom placed Heartland Queens.

The Super Six takes another break on Saturday after matchday five.

Match day 5 draws the round robin competition to a close this Sunday at the Samson Siasia Stadium with overall table toppers emerging champions of this season’s top-flight.

Rivers Angels final match against Heartland Queens on Sunday will be played simultaneously with the match between Bayelsa Queens and Edo Queens, with both matches kicking off at 12 pm at Nembe City Stadium, Nembe and the Samson Siasia Stadium, respectively.
