Plateau – Mikang youths reject nationwide protest

Ahead of the planned protest scheduled to hold on 1st august,2024, organized youths associations in Mikang LGA on Wednesday dissociated themselves from the protest.

Arising from an enlarged emergency security meeting which had in attendance all heads of security in Tunkus, the council headquarters, the youths leaders showered praises on Governor Caleb Mutfwang for executing policies that have direct impact on the people.

Head of Information and public Relations of the Local government council made available to newsmen in Jos reads that the Youths also praised the council Boss, Hon. Daniel Kungmi for complementing the agricultural revolution of the state Government by procuring over forty trucks of fertilizer which was sold at subsidized rates of N20,000 per bag.

The meeting which also had in attendance Traditional rulers and other stakeholders acknowledged the prevalence of hardship in the country but admonished the people to exercise patience with the federal government noting that the Government has introduced practical measures that are capable of mitigating the hardship in the coming months.

The meeting also called on political parties to conduct their affairs with fairness, equity and justice as the conduct their respective primary elections to choose candidates for the Local council elections scheduled to hold in October.

The Director, personnel management of the council Baba Sani, who represented the TIC Chairman, Daniel Kungmi, said the meeting was apt given the rising tension in the country.

The statement also reads that the meeting also commended the PDP in the area for conducting a peaceful ward congress and advised the party to maintain the same clean sheet as they go into the LGA congress
