Kaduna Governor Launches 200 Hectare Housing Project

On Wednesday, the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, launched a 200-hectare housing project in the New Millennium City in partnership with Urban Shelter. The initiative aims to provide affordable housing for the poor, vulnerable, and underserved communities, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to tackling the state’s housing shortage.

Governor Sani, represented by his Deputy, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, emphasized that housing is more than just physical structures; it is a fundamental component of human dignity. He highlighted the government’s strategic approach to addressing housing issues, which includes forming partnerships with both local and international investors, implementing a Social Housing Scheme, and enhancing the Public Housing Corporation.

He noted that this housing project is expected to significantly improve the lives of citizens and reaffirm the government’s dedication to social responsibility.

“Housing is not merely a structure; it is a fundamental pillar of human dignity. Access to safe, affordable, and secure housing is essential for every citizen,” said Governor Sani.

He praised Urban Shelter for recognizing the potential of Kaduna State and choosing to invest in it. He commended the company’s efforts in developing over 25 hectares of land in Millennium City and welcomed their commitment to this new 200-hectare project under a Development Lease Agreement with the Kaduna State Government.
