Atiku Abubakar Urges Edo Voters to Reject APC, Support PDP

Must read

As the Edo State governorship election approaches, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has issued a stark warning to voters. He argues that voting for the All Progressives Congress (APC) will perpetuate the current hardships in the state.

In a statement titled “The Clear Choice for a Prosperous Edo State,” Atiku criticized the APC for worsening Nigeria’s economic conditions, citing increased fuel prices and widespread poverty. “They have criticized previous leaders for raising fuel prices, yet fuel now exceeds N900 per litre. Their disregard for the masses is unprecedented,” Atiku said.

Atiku, who was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, endorsed PDP candidate Dr. Asue Ighodalo, praising him as a choice for progress and continuity of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s achievements.

“The APC has posed as a friend to the masses, but their leadership has resulted in hunger, unemployment, and despair. Your vote can be a voice for change,” Atiku urged.

He condemned the APC for neglecting the needs of ordinary citizens while pursuing personal gains. “Under their rule, Nigeria has plunged into a state of suffering. The APC has failed the people, serving only themselves,” he added.

Atiku’s statement emphasizes the critical choice facing Edo voters, urging them to support a path towards improvement and prosperity.
