The Kaduna State Government has refuted reports claiming that Governor Uba Sani has launched a scholarship program exclusively for students from Southern Kaduna through a private organization, SKAID.
In a statement signed by Nasir Dambatta, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Print Media, the administration clarified that no such program exists under the governor’s directives. The statement was shared with the media to correct the misinformation.
Dambatta emphasized that the administration is committed to ensuring equal educational opportunities for all students across Kaduna State, regardless of their geographic or ethnic backgrounds. He further clarified that “the SKAID Foundation’s initiative, although focused on Southern Kaduna, is entirely a private effort and not linked to the state government’s policies.”
The statement reiterated that Governor Sani’s educational policies are centered on inclusivity, aiming to uplift underprivileged students throughout the entire state. “This clarification is necessary to dispel any misconceptions or attempts to politicize the governor’s efforts,” Dambatta stated.
Southern Kaduna is a region largely inhabited by indigenous Christian communities in the southern part of Kaduna State.
