By Israel Adamu, Jos

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, joined Nigeria’s Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima, on an important two-day visit to Sweden.

The high-profile delegation, which includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, along with heads of key government agencies and parastatals, departed from Abuja on Thursday for a series of bilateral engagements aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries.

The visit, undertaken on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, centers around high-level discussions with prominent Swedish officials, including Crown Princess Victoria and Sweden’s Prime Minister. The talks aim to deepen cooperation in sectors such as information and communications technology (ICT), innovation, education, digitalization, sustainable transport, mining, and agriculture.

In a statement signed by Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, and made available to newsmen in Jos, it was noted that Vice President Shettima and Governor Mutfwang participated in a technical session with “Team Sweden.” This group consists of various entities engaged in partnerships with Nigeria, focusing on investment opportunities in health, education, the digital economy, and sustainable transportation. The discussions were geared toward fostering mutual growth and development.

The visit has provided a platform for strategic dialogue with influential stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, paving the way for future collaborations that could accelerate Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
