Ekiti State Chief Judge Justice Oyewole Adeyeye Passes Away

The Ekiti State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, has passed away. His death follows a prolonged illness resulting from a serious injury he sustained on July 12, 2023. A section of the state high court complex wall collapsed on him while he was in his office.

Born in 1960 in Araromi Ugbesi, Ekiti East Local Government, Justice Adeyeye was called to the bar in 1986. He began his career as a state counsel in the civil service of the old Ondo State before joining the Ekiti State Judiciary Service Commission in 1996. He became a judge in the Ekiti State High Court in 2002 and served on various election petition tribunals.

The Association of International Female Lawyers (FIDA) in Ekiti State has expressed its condolences to Justice Adeyeye’s family. FIDA Chairperson Oyinade Olatunbosun confirmed the news and promised to release a signed statement soon.
