Sokoto State Reaffirms Commitment to Fighting Infectious Diseases

The Sokoto State Government has reiterated its dedication to revitalizing the health sector and combating infectious diseases effectively.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Animal Health and Fisheries Development, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Yabo, made this known during a one-day workshop organized by Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.

Highlighting the government’s efforts, Alhaji Yabo said, “The administration has been proactive in funding initiatives aimed at tackling infectious diseases, particularly within the health and animal sectors, to safeguard both public and animal health.”

According to a statement by the ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Aisha Lawal, the Permanent Secretary reaffirmed the government’s readiness to support organizations, groups, or individuals contributing to the control of infectious diseases.

Alhaji Yabo also called on stakeholders to rise to the challenge, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in building a healthy society.

This initiative aligns with Sokoto State’s broader commitment to fostering a resilient healthcare system and ensuring the well-being of its citizens.
