When to Replace Your Pillow
Experts recommend replacing pillows every one to two years to maintain a clean, supportive, and allergy-free sleeping environment. The lifespan of a pillow can vary depending on the material:
– Latex pillows can last up to three years.
– Polyester pillows typically need replacement after one year.

Signs It’s Time to Replace Your Pillow
Here are some clear indicators that your pillow needs to be replaced:
– Persistent neck pain or discomfort.
– Difficulty finding a comfortable sleeping position.
– Lumps, sagging, or excessive yellowing.
– Allergies or respiratory issues that worsen at night.
– The pillow feels flat or uncomfortable.

Tests to Check Your Pillow’s Condition

– The Saddlebag Test
For synthetic or hollow fibre pillows, drape the pillow over your outstretched arm. If it droops significantly and loses shape like a saddlebag, it’s time for a new one.

– The Fold Test
Fold the pillow in half. If it doesn’t bounce back to its original shape, it may no longer provide adequate support. This test works best for synthetic and hollow fibre pillows.

– The Press Test
For foam pillows, press down on the surface. If it takes too long to regain its shape or doesn’t recover at all, it’s time for a replacement.
