Inaufurating the distribution in Wamakko the governor said each of the 23 local government areas in the state would benefit with 3 truck load of the commodity free of charge.
As part of the governor’s smart 9 points agenda, his government will continue to support agriculture which has served as a source of self-reliant and a boost economy from time immemorial.
“To ensure surplus dry season irrigation farming, the works on kware irrigation scheme covering 450 hectares has been completed and would soon be allocated ro farmers.
“”We are contributing towards ensuring food security and similarly improve living condition of our people.
“”Today, we are flagging off the donation 3 truck load of fertilizer comprising NPK, Urea, Insecticides, Pesticides and other farm inputs to each of the 23 local government areas of the state for dry season farming”,the governor averred.
While appealing to the committee in charge of the distribution to do just to all with fear of God, the governor warned against diversion, saying, anybody caught sabotaging their sincere gesture will be dealt with.
Earlier, Wamakko Local government chairman, Alhaji Ummaru Ahmad Dundaye in his welcome address, said the governor’s effort towards encouraging agriculture in the state was a good development.
On his part, the state commissioner, ministry of agriculture, Alhaji Bello Muhammed Wamakko in a remark said the flag of the distribution of dry season fertilizers and other agro chemicals to farmers across the state was a step in the right direction.
Giving his submission at the event, the
Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar 111 represented by Galadiman Gari, Alhaji Aliyu Attahiru said the governor is fulfilling majority of his campaign promises just in less than two years.
“”Farming is very crucial to human existence and looking at the 9 point agenda of the governor, one can once again rate the governor that he is doing well. Few months ago, this same year 2014, the governor distributed fertilizers free of charge to farmers in the state for the rainy season””.
