The National President of the Middle Belt Youth Development Organization (MYDEVO), Comrade Chris Aba, has extended New Year greetings to Nigerians, particularly citizens of the Middle Belt, congratulating them on witnessing 2025.
In a statement released through the organization’s Director of Media and Publicity, Prince David Odama, on Wednesday, Comrade Aba commended the resilience and faith displayed by youths, stakeholders, and leaders in the North Central region in supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration throughout 2024, despite the nation’s challenges.
“This past year was one worthy of giving thanks to the Almighty God,” Aba remarked, urging fervent prayers for divine wisdom for President Tinubu and his cabinet to steer Nigeria towards a brighter future.
He called on Nigerians to remain resilient and committed to the dreams of the nation’s founding fathers, stressing the importance of unity and support for leaders at all levels to foster development.
“While Nigeria has faced its share of challenges, what is required from all citizens is a commitment to unity and peaceful coexistence, which are crucial for national progress,” Aba said.
Acknowledging the economic hardships affecting Nigerians, Aba urged patience, expressing optimism that the ongoing reforms under President Tinubu would soon yield positive outcomes.
“I strongly believe that what we are currently experiencing will pass if all hands are on deck to actualize the Renewed Hope Agenda across all sectors. This will make Nigeria a nation every citizen can be proud of,” he stated.
Comrade Aba emphasized the need for collective support for the current administration, noting that unity is essential for overcoming national challenges and securing Nigeria’s rightful place on the global stage.
He also called for robust backing of North Central governors and other leaders, highlighting efforts to address inherited challenges and improve citizens’ quality of life.
On sports development, Aba advocated for increased funding, describing it as a crucial tool for fostering unity, peace, and national growth. He announced the launch of a Tinubu Unity Youth Sports Competition organized by MYDEVO to promote peaceful coexistence, enhance the well-being of rural communities, and combat insecurity.
“This competition is our contribution to fostering unity and reducing youth restiveness. It will engage young people in productive ventures, making them valuable to themselves and society,” he explained.
Aba also revealed new initiatives aimed at enhancing youth participation in governance within the Middle Belt and across Nigeria.
He urged youths to embrace positive actions and reject vices such as armed robbery, banditry, kidnapping, and violence. He stressed the importance of working with the government to address insecurity, which is key to building a better future.
“My message to the youth is simple: stand up for your future. Reject all forms of criminality and join hands with the government to create a secure and prosperous nation,” he concluded.
The Middle Belt Youth Development Organization reaffirmed its commitment to supporting President Tinubu’s administration and initiatives that promote unity, peace, and development in Nigeria.
