Benue Governor’s Cup Finals Set for Saturday, Says BFA Chairman

The Chairman of the Benue State Football Association (BFA), Mr. Paul Edeh, has announced that the finals and third-place matches of the ongoing Benue Governor’s Cup Competition will take place on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the McCarthy Stadium, Makurdi.

In a statement, Mr. Edeh invited football enthusiasts and the people of Benue State to come together in celebration of grassroots football and the unity it fosters across the state.

“It is with great joy that I announce that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Benue State, has graciously approved Saturday, January 4, 2025, for the finals and third-place matches of the Benue State Governor’s Cup,” Mr. Edeh said.

He further urged the public to prepare for the event, which will highlight the importance of grassroots football. “We urge everyone to join us in celebrating the game and the sense of unity it brings to our state. Full match details will be shared in due course.”

The semifinals for the women’s category have already kicked off at the McCarthy Stadium, Wadata, Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
