Google Offers Fully Funded AI Science Scholarships for African Students

The 2025 Google DeepMind AI for Science Scholarships are now open for African students wishing to pursue postgraduate degrees at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS). These fully funded scholarships cover tuition, living costs, and research expenses, providing an excellent opportunity for students to specialize in AI, machine learning, and mathematical sciences.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be African citizens or residents, holding a completed undergraduate degree in mathematics, physics, computer science, statistics, or engineering, with a strong mathematical or computational component. Additionally, applicants should not have held an AIMS scholarship before.

Scholarship Benefits
The Google DeepMind AI for Science Scholarship offers full funding for up to two years of postgraduate study, covering tuition, relocation costs, living stipends, and essential resources such as computing, internet, and electricity. Scholars also gain access to Google DeepMind’s AI-related events, receive mentorship from industry experts, and can network with professionals at global conferences.

How to Apply
To apply, candidates must submit an application form, CV, motivation letter, academic transcripts, and responses to mathematics and coding problems on the AIMS portal. The application deadline is March 21, 2025. Successful applicants will undergo online interviews in May 2025.
