The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) has begun a crucial meeting in Abuja. The goal is to resolve the leadership crisis threatening party unity before the 2027 elections.
Acting National Chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum, is presiding over the meeting. Key attendees include embattled National Secretary Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, BoT Chairman Sen. Adolphus Wabara, and Sen. Ben Obi.
A major issue on the agenda is the National Secretary dispute. Sen. Anyanwu and Hon. Sunday Udeh-Okoye both claim the position. The case is now before the Supreme Court and has divided the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
Damagum is reportedly aligned with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. Meanwhile, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, supports Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed.
The meeting’s outcome could shape the PDP’s future leadership and election strategy.
